Grants and Guidance Helps Tempe Firm Make Product Development Transition
Research Integrations, Inc. (RII) has been developing and applying design principles to enhance human performance in simple and complex task environments. RII identifies and develops products to make scientific and technical information usable by the people who need it. The Tempe, Arizona-based company assists customers nationwide including the FAA, NASA, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Booz Allen Hamilton, and other research and industrial organizations in the aviation, automotive and manufacturing sectors.
Recently, as the company was in the midst of a major transition going from a solely service-based business model to a product-based, service-differentiated mode with the launch of a new software tool, RII brought in a project team from Time Wise Management Systems and the Arizona Manufacturing Extension Partnership. The team was able to secure an H-1B grant funded by the US Department of Labor, administered by the Northern Arizona Council of Governments, to conduct a technical skills training assessment. Through the assessment, the project team was able to identify specific objectives and make recommendations to achieve their product development goals.
“The project team was an exceptionally valuable resource for companies. Their assistance in helping us obtain grant funding has been integral to the success of our transition,” said Sarah Harron, RII’s human resources manager.
