What Makes M.O.S.T.® Different
The M.O.S.T.® program has several advantages over traditional training programs:
| • |
First, participating employers commit to hire trainees who have successfully completed the two-week training and to provide OJT (On-the-Job Training). This enhances trainee motivation, because participants know that a job with additional OJT training awaits them after the 2-week initial training as well as a clear career track.
|
| • |
Second, the training program can be customized to suit the needs of participating employers. This shortens the length of time before a trainee can become a productive employee and increases the attractiveness of the training program for small manufacturers.
|
| • |
Third, the training is delivered in a state-of-the-art Mobile Training Unit (MTU). The MTU can be located at the employer’s facility or at a location that is convenient for trainees. This flexibility in training delivery is particularly important in attracting low-income trainees who may lack transportation to a community college or other educational institution. It also facilitates training in rural regions, where community college campuses and other training facilities may not be located near participating manufacturers.
|
| • |
Finally, M.O.S.T.® is truly performance-based. Payment is made only after successful job placement. |
In summary, M.O.S.T.® is different than other training programs because:
| • |
It’s a proven program. |
| • |
It’s mobile – it goes where the jobs and potential workers are. |
| • |
It’s customizable. |
| • |
It’s targeted to the hardest-to-place populations. |
| • |
It can train for the new green economy. |
| • |
It has a rapid return on investment of federal dollars on a per-job basis – just four to six months. |
| • |
It doesn’t just train - it places people in jobs in just two weeks. |
